Abstract

This service activity aims to provide early introduction and knowledge about conservation education through plant nursery activities to Wulele Sanggula II UHO kindergarten students at the UHO Botanical Garden. This service activity is carried out by first explaining the importance of planting trees, greening at school, practicing planting in polybags and watering plants that have been planted. This activity was carried out at the UHO botanical garden nursery house because this activity led to direct practice of seeding plant species into polybags. The types of plants that were seeded were Bitti (Vitex cofassus), Red Jabon (Anthocephalus macrophyllus), Trembesi (Samanea Saman) and Tirotasi (Polyscias nodosa). The result of this activity is that the students look enthusiastic and excited and they can do all stages of this activity well, starting from the explanation of the importance of planting trees, the introduction of planting media such as polybags and soil, the introduction of types of plant seeds, how to plant seeds into polybags, how to water plants in polybags and hand washing activities after planting. The real benefit of this activity is that students can stimulate the sensitivity of cognitive, affective and psychomotor aspects in gaining direct experience that can strengthen their understanding of the importance of biodiversity.
